Student eligibility for participation in Virginia High School League athletics and VHSL activities (one-act theater, debate, scholastic bowl, Esports) is governed by the rules of the VHSL.

It is important to know that, by default, all students who change from one school to another are ineligible for VHSL athletic and activity participation at the new school. Students will be required to demonstrate that they satisfy the criteria of VHSL Rule 28A-7-1 (Transfer Rule) before they can be declared eligible to participate in any VHSL-sponsored program.
