On Saturday, September 17th the Statesmen Cheer and Football teams welcomed Korean and Vietnam Veterans to Washington D.C. as they arrived at Reagan National Airport. The event was part of the Honor Flight Network which celebrates America's Veterans by inviting them to share a day of honor at our nations war memories. Both Marshall teams where present at the airport gate as the veterans deplaned, cheering for those who gave so much for our country. Handshakes were exchanged and the athletes had the opportunity for brief exchanges with the men and women who served.
The Marshall High School Activities Office and its athletes have work with the Honor Flight Network since 2014, welcoming flights of veterans from all over the country. If you would like to learn more about the great work the Honor Flight Network does visit
